I know there are schedules all over this forum, I just need confirmation that i'm doing it right!  Is this ok?

7am - 2 multivitamins w/iron

10am - 500mg calcium citrate plus d3

NOON - 500mg calcium citrate plus d3

2pm - 500mg calcium citrate plus d3

8pm - omeprazole and synthroid

Thanks - I'm 2-1/2 weeks post-op and am terrified of doing something wrong!  :-)

You might want to separate your multi vitamins too. Otherwise you won't get the full benefit from them.

Thank you!  Then I'll just take one multivitiamin at 7am, then the other with dinner...is that a long enough break between taking iron and synthroid?

that would be fine.

Oh, and what about B12?

I have not yet been told to take B-12.

You might want to ask about it.  The ASMBS says all RNY patients need B12.  Since we lack both stomach acid and intrinsic factor in our pouches, we can't absorb B12 from our food or from our multivitamin.  We need a sublingual, nasal spray, or shots.

Note, however, that if you're taking a prescription iron supplement (ferocon) that it contains B12 and has you covered.

Unless that iron has sublingual B12, it wouldn't work because we don't absorb B12. It needs to be sublingual or a b12 shot.
