I know that everyone sees this all of the time but I just need to get it off of my chest to hopefully feel better.  I am 1 month post op and I am down 30lbs I had a stall at 3 weeks and today the scale went up 2 lbs.  It is very disheartening to see this and I know from all of the countless posts that it is normal for a stall and I was fine with that but to gain 2 lbs has me very upset.  I am upping my water but not sure what else to do, even though i see what everyone else is doing I am lost.

thank you everyone for listening

There is nothing to do.   You just keep doing everything as your doctor prescribes.   The weight comes off fast, but it isn't even and it isn't constant.   If you are following your program, it will eventually turnaround.

Thank you 65Roses, I know it will work out but this is such an emotional road that even though we expect and read and see and post it still gets to us.

I had a stall at about three weeks after surgery, it was so frustrating, but believe me t passes.  The gain can be water retention.  Best of luck to you, stay vigilant in eating, it will move when it gets ready to.

It happened to me as well!!  My weight loss was so fast  then about three weeks out I stopped and I've lost maybe 3-4 pounds in the past three weeks!!  I just keep doing what I know I should do!! Hang in there!

Have you been keeping a log of what you eat, drink, and how much you exercise? If you have, look back and see if anything has changed. Even a slight difference like not getting enough water can affect you. I'm sure your gain is nothing more than water weight, but keeping a log helps to be sure

I am three weeks post op tomorrow and I think I too am in a stall...the scale hasn't moved in 4 days and I have recently started soft food so I thought I was maybe eating to much, then when I look at what I am actually eating and that I'm following the plan I was given I know it must just be a stall. But it is very frustrating and makes me feel as though I am doing something wrong...so I totally get where you are coming from, I'm right there with ya! But I'm sure it will change, hopefully sooner than later!

Thank you everyone :) I appreciate all of your kind words.  I am keeping a log and doing really well with my proteins my next appt is next week on the 19th.  I know we should not weigh ourselves often and that is really hard to do but I did ok this week and tonight when I stepped on it said 209 and then I went out walked and when I came home I figured I would double check and now it is 205 hmmm thats it i am locking my scale away until further notice

Hello, I am 6 weeks post op and at 4 weeks I stalled.  I became discouraged and very frustrated.  After talking with fellow patients I was told to increase my protein and water intake.  A week after that I lost 4 lbs and then 5 the following week.  So hang in there.
