Where's Nik been?
Or, more likely, with new traffic flowing into the board, "Who the hell is Nik?"
I just wanted to pop in and say hi. This has been a BUSY month running the Bariatric Foodie Pledge. Also, for Lent I gave up a lot of social media, mostly my personal Facebook (unfortunately BF can't give up Facebook during Lent but giving up my personal one has been both challenging and refreshing!).
S'anyway I wanted to say...how ARE you guys? What's new? What'd I miss? I'm sorry I tend to drop off the face of the earth!
And here are a few things going on with me.
- I'm still single but it is noteworthy that in the last month I've been rejected by TWO men: one for being too small, the other for being too large. I feel like Goldilocks.
- Um...I got accepted to grad school! YAY!!! I will enter the Notre Dame of Maryland University's Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Communications program (that was a lot to say!)
- Speaking of communications OH asked me to guest blog so I'll be doing a series on the stories we tell ourselves through the wls process. The first post is up. Check it out!
- My oldest daughter turns 14 in a few weeks, which is right about when I plan to have my midlife crisis ;)
- ...And that birthday is two days after the first anniversary of my mother's death so I expect to be back around sooner, rather than later, because you all are the only people who tolerate me when I am a hot mess
Otherwise it's business as usual: gym, work, home, blogging. I'm actually pretty boring.
But I miss you guys! I'd say I'll be around more often but I really am trying to cut down my computer time and I respect you guys too much to straight up break promises like that. But I am thinking of you always, my friends.
So enough of me...back to you. How are YOU???

Hey Nik. I'm doing good. I'm approaching my one year surgiversary and 102 lbs gone. Haven't been on much either. I had two adhesion removal surgeries, gall bladder removal and am now home recovering from breast reduction and lift. So it's been a pretty busy year.
Lisa
That IS a lot. I hope all is well on the health front now.
I dream of a breast lift. I went to a free consult with a surgeon who said he is not sure if I have enough tissue to do much with. He said I may need augmentation. Can you believe that? After having 48 HH breasts I may need augmentation. That boggles my mind.

We've missed you! Congrats on grad school. And we will be here to support you through your mid-life crisis and the anniversary of your Mom's death. Whatever you need, friend!
All is well here - 8 1/2 months out and down 93 lbs total. Not too shabby.
Amy
Not too shabby at all! Congrats. That's wonderful.
