Upper Endoscopy....Not so bad
So I had my upper endoscopy today. That wasn't so bad!! I was soooooo worried. I watched a couple of them on YouTube. Okay, let me just pass on some advice from the nurse today. "Stop watching YouTube!!!!" She's so right.
The wonderful nurse gave me a small shot around where the IV would go in to numb it up a little and I barely felt that. Then she put the IV in and I did not feel any of that. Fantastic! After a bit they rolled me back to the procedure room. The asked me all the questions about who I was and my birthday then it was time.
One of the things I thought I would not like is that little plastic mouth piece to keep your mouth open during the procedure. I don't like things like that for very long. I knew it would **** me off pretty quick. About 2 seconds after it was in my mouth one of the nurses said she was going to give me something to feel better. Well, I remember about the next 5 seconds and telling them that I was feeling it. Next thing I remember is them trying to wake me up. After I woke up, I spent about 10 minutes in the "recovery" room and it was time to go.
So if you have ANY reservations about getting an upper endoscopy, take it from this wimp, it really is nothing. Oh, and the results appeared to be good for now. They did a standard biopsy and I should have those results in a few days.
Looking forward to 3/26/2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!
