Any suggestions on which protein bar is low fat low carb and high protein that tastes good?

Has anyone ever bought the frozen Adkins meals?

My favorite protein bar:  Healthwise, Caramel Crunch, 15 grams protein, 16 grams carb

My favorite Adkins frozen meal:  Crustless Chicken Pot Pie, 22 grams protein, 8 grams carb

Even at 10 months I still don't do protein bars.  I probably would if I was on the road alot and needed to keep something in my purse in case I got stuck in traffic.  Doesn't mean they are bad, but you really have to read the labels because some are just way out there in calories and carbs. Totally a personal choice.  Also frozen meals are usually loaded with sodium.  I cannot believe the turn around I have made in eating as natural as I can with fresh ingredients.  This would not have been me a year ago.   Jane

Me, too.  I really try to limit the number of chemical laden, processed I eat.

I do, admittedly, still drink diet soda which is ALL chemicals, and often have a snack sized candy bar as my daily treat, and put protein powder in my morning hot chocolate.  I prefer, though, to roast a whole turkey breast and then slice and vacuum seal it than to eat processed deli turkey or buy frozen turkey dinners, etc..  I also periodically make a batch of chili or vegetable soup and freeze it rather than buying the canned soups.  It just makes me feel better about what I am putting in my body (and offsets the chemicals from the soda, LOL).

Lora, I had my first bit of diet Coke a few weeks ago and I never tasted anything so good in my life!!!!  So I understand, we all have to have our treats because I know it's unrealistic to go the rest of our lives without them.  I felt like I was having a fountain soda back in Woolworth's at the counter.  Many of you won't even know what I am talking about and Lora, I am not implying you are from another time such as I but when I was young we would go in for a grilled cheese sandwich or burger.  Literally a little slice of heaven!  LOL

I never actually went to such a counter, but am definitely old enough to understand the reference. :)

Maybe this explains my long stall. My surgery was 12/17 and I've only lost 40 lbs but a total of 75 from start of preop diet. I am a nurse and I work 5 12 hr days do I have relied on these Adkins frozen meals and I just can't get over this stall. I exercise walk 2 miles everyday. I've almost felt the surgery was useless. But this advise is great. Maybe that's my answer. Thanks

Give it a try.  We all have to jumble things up from time to time.  This is a constant work in process.  What may work for you may not work for me.  Just keep going and do what you are doing.  I was in a stall for about 6 weeks after the sixth month.  They come and go.  Best of luck!  Jane

I think you are doing great.  My surgery was the same day and I'm down 35 pounds.  I had a two week stall where I gained back the 2 from the week before so, after three weeks no improvement.  Just kept doing what I need to do and it's moving again.  It'll start up again.  Just hang in there.

The new Quest Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein bar is awesome! It is from the Original Line. It has pieces of chocolate in the cookie dough. I must warn you, it is very sweet tasting but I am hooked. Quest Bars are my, "Crack of Choice"...LOL!!!

My personal favorites are Chocolate Brownie and Apple Pie from the Original Line and Coconut Cashew from the Natural Line. This was just added to my favorites list!
