Gus update
Gus is now 11 weeks old, is over 20 pounds (he was 11 when I got him), eats like a pig, has lots of energy, and seems to grow overnight almost every day! So here are a couple of new pictures of my little "tater tot" (a friend who also has Chows commented on how the young cream ones look like tater tots when you look down on them, and she is right, LOL). His coloring looks very different depending on the lighting (and whether a flash is involved), but the first picture is pretty accurate.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Even with Gus, I still miss Max (the Scottie I had to unexpectedly put down 2 days after I got Gus) terribly. Had a Scottie in the house for MANY years and the house feels empty without one... If I still feel that way after my knee is healed up and Gus is bigger, I will likely look into getting a female Scottie puppy.

He currently gets brushed for about 15 minutes three times a week. He still resists being brushed and tries to bite my hands and the brush. When Khan was full grown (he had the same sire as Gus and had a very thick coat), it was about an hour of brushing about twice a week (sitting on the floor with him) and MUCH more during the two times a year when he was blowing his coat for the season change.
