Yeah, you can take Tylenol.  I had no trouble taking pills right after surgery, but you can get liquid Tylenol of you're afraid to take pills.

I am scared to take the pills but I will try, should I cut it in half if it the oblong pills?  Or do you just take it whole?  If it does not work I will try the liquid, pheww it is amazing what I am scared of now.

You can cut it in half if you have trouble swallowing pills that size.  I didn't have trouble swallowing pills even if they were big.

I take Tylenol and use a heating pad. If its really bad I'll take a hot shower or bath and just let the water hit the area that's cramping up bad.

Be careful with the liquid Tylenol. I bought the children's one because the adult one is no longer available, went to take it and looked at ingredients..... High fructose corn syrup! What??? Also bought children's chewables, was suppose to chew 4, when chewing the first one.... I just felt it tasted awfully sugary, spit it out!!!! Looked and it also contained sugar! What in the world!?! They make kids medicine so sugary, so they will like it! That is why kids complain of feeling sick, just to get it! Do you have any pain medicine left from after surgery? Maybe take a teaspoon of that! Good luck! Periods can be a pain!!! Blessings

My GP perscribed me liquid codene because my cramps are soooo bad.  I feel like I am in labour every month for 5 days pre-op and 9 days post-op!!!!  I also use a heating pad and hot showers and they help to loosen up the muscles.  Lots of walking and deep breathing (yep like you're in labour) works although you might seem a bit silly going for a walk around the mall doing lamaze breathing but I will do whatever it takes!  I don't like to take the codene if I don't have to so I've tried pretty much every home remedy in the book.  Some days, good old fashioned crying is the only way to go :(   I hope you find something that works for you!

I hope tylenol works for your cramps.  I dont feel like it helps me much for that.  I miss NSAIDS for TOM cramps.  I dont remember any mention of cramps from hell as a side effect of RNY.  Not that it would have changed my mind, but OUCH.  I have done what the other poster suggested and had some of my post op liquid meds I have left.  May be time for me to get some of the plumbing yanked out.  Way done with having babies lol
