I am trying to drink as much as I can but right now my muscles are all twitching/shaky light headed and I have had diarrhea for the past day and half it is not a lot because I am not really eating but everything I drink well you get the picture.  I will be 1 full week out tomorrow can I try some yogurt to see if the pro bioticis work?

Thank you, I was a big sugar person about 2 weeks prior to surgery then I cut it out 100%.  I am pretty sure I do not have the flu no fever nothing to make me think I have it :)  I do have sugar free jello but I have not had any yet, I will try that to see if it works.  My stomach is making a lot of noise but i know it is not hungry.  I will check with my dr tomorrow to see if everything is ok just was curious to make sure I was not doing anything wrong.

Sounds like you may still have some gas trapped try some extra strength gas x,and walk ,walk, and you can handle it massage your stomach to help move the gas around so you can get rid of it.Gas pains make me very sick and I cant eat or drink when I get that.

Have someone get you some Propel or Vitaminwater Zero.  They both have electrolytes in them (like Gatorade) but do not have sugar so we can have it.  It is common to have diahreah as your first BM after surgery because we are on liquids (liquids in, liquids out) so don't be too alarmed at that, but you really don't want to get dehydrated so concentrate all your efforts on that right now.  Don't worry too much if you can't get the protein shakes down, just focus on fluids right now.  Follow your surgeon's food plan to a T and if you have questions on a certain food that isn't on your list, call them to make sure.

Good luck with your recovery and congratulations on your recent surgery!

Diarrhea the first few weeks in pretty normal after having your intestines messed with.  It will get better.  I had diarrhea for the first few weeks and then I've been dealing with constipation since, lol.  Just make sure you are getting in enough fluids, including things with electrolytes.  If you are cleared for yogurt that is a good way to get in probiotics.  I have yogurt every day to keep things in check.

The first week was rough.  I was weak and shaky and felt really blah.   It will get better.  You can try having some watered down 100% juice if you feel like your blood sugar is tanking, just take very little sips and don't have much, if you dump it won't be fun.
