This is a stupid question - I have a sinus infection and was prescribed a Z-pak by my PCP - she knows that I have had RNY and I feel confident that she prescribed the right thing but here is where the stupidity comes in.........How the heck do I take medication with food when we aren't supposed to drink and eat at the same time. I never take any of my other meds or supplements with food so this is the first time.
I know I am more than likely over-thinking this but better safe than sorry :-)

You can grind it to a powder. I was working with a patients after operations on stomach (as I'm a nurse) and we always administered drugs crashed mixed with the food (thick soup or a small amount of drink) then you can take it without any problems. Do not worry it says on the pack to swallow it. It's ok to grind it. If that is a capsule just open it and put the inside to a drink. Remember thou to not mix it with any citrus juice or to not eat grapefruit during or just after it in any form (may react with drugs).
