2 post op month lab question?
Hello
I have my results from my 2 month post op meeting and would love everyone's input so I can learn to watch the trends as you all call them! Do I post ALL these results or what do people usually post that is helpful? Thanks.
Whooo Hooo... Nut said I have already lost 50% towards my goal weight so she wants me to eat a bit more. She said that most do not reach this until 6 months out. Wow. First ever time in my life that I have lost this much weight and then to have a medical professional tell me to eat more, LOL. OK then. So now I get 3 oz of protein per meal instead of 2 and I get to up my fruits/veggies from 2 servings per day to 4 servings per day. I am in heaven!
Starting weight on 12/11/12 day of surgery was 220. As of today, I am 170!!!
You can certainly post all the results if you want, but that might be a lot of typing! If you'd rather, you can post any results marked abnormal. You might also want to post stuff like vitamin D, B12, iron, ferritin, vitamin A and zinc - I'm thinking of things that are most likely to be low, or to be marked as in the reference range but still lower than is good.

Kelly,
Thanks for responding. Well, now, actually all my labs were spot on. No abnormals or lows. Only thing was my folate was a bit high but not much. So I guess I don't need to post unless I am having a problem. Great! Well, I didn't even think of it like that, LOL. Oh me... getting doddery in my old age. Thanks again and if anything goes awry, I will definitely post as I know you are sharper than anything about the labs and vitamins and so on.
I appreciate you!
Jonnie
Just be aware that the references ranges for D and B12 are often really low on lab reports. We want our D to be at least 80 and B12 above 550, preferrably around 900-1000.
