I still dump!
I'm sorry you had an "at-work" dump! I dumped on nearly everything in the 1st year - fruit, fat,and stayed the heck away from sugars. But now at 22 months, my threshold has changed but IS STILL THERE! So I try not to pu**** on the unhealthy things. Fruit, I'm happy to have back into my tolerance; but cookies just really shouldn't have a place in my life. Sadly.

I find it strange that I don't seem to dump or have an issue with alcohol. I've had a drink twice since surgery thinking this may put me under the table and it didn't do anything. I seldom have alcohol so it doesn't really matter but I had heard so much about people having a drink and getting drunk that I expected it to happen. Sugars haven't bothered me but I don't eat a lot because I don't want to take the space from protein. There was a time I'd rather eat sweets that healthy foods so I can't allow myself to go there again.

I am afraid of dumping - I hate to feel sick - so I try to learn from everyone else's experiences. I had surgery 5 weeks ago. At different times, I've had a couple of cookies, a couple of Trader Joe's chocolate covered cherries and bananas and I haven't dumped. I enjoy a little something sweet once in awhile. I've heard that ice cream often causes dumping for people. When I'm further along and have a couple of hours to spare, I'm going to try a little. But basically, what I've learned from this discussion board is that one may or may not dump; it may happen at any time in this process; and any type of sweet may cause it.
