I still dump!

Today at work they had a pot luck. I took some cheese, deli meat, a couple of meat balls and hard boiled eggs. Nothing bad. I didn't eat it all, I figured I can eat some for dinner. (I work late).

Now, usually, I'm not a fan of the sweet stuff. But they had some coconut bars with chocolate and they just looked scrumptious, or like I say, "scrump-diddly-umptious!" So I grabbed one and ate half (about a square 1X1).

Oh man! The pain! Not even ten minutes later I was regretting it! I haven't dumped in a long time, mostly cause I don't eat sweets. The last time I did was from a banana and I've had banana since and been fine, so I guess I figured maybe I had grown some sort of tolerance to sugar.

I guess I thought that cause I had read in here some people eventually outgrow their dumping issues?

Idk what I thought. I still dump. Big time. No more "scrump-diddly-umptious!" bars for me.

I've heard that you can tolerate more sugar, but I guess I was wrong!

I still dump 7 months out...I've come to the conclusion there will always be some stuff that I will just not be able to tolerate. I accept that as part of my life change.

Yeah. I didnt dump until 4 months out, on accident. I ate a candy that I thought was SF. It wasnt. Sucked.

Oh.. I mean I literally didn't dump. I could eat candy, ice cream, carbs, you name it..... until about a month ago. Now I dump.

Oh wow! That is weird. But a good thing I guess. I prefer to dump than not to. Keeps me in check.

I've noticed that I can dump on something one day and another day (way in the future after I forget how I hate to dump) it won't bother me.  You got to love the randomness of it!

I'm almost 8 years out and very rarely dump from sweets unless I really, really overdo it.   My advice?    Don't test it by eating sweets - keep going with the assumption that you will not able to tolerate it.   Since I've "figured out" that I can handle sweets, I've been eating way too many!

 

Everyone is different, but the reason most of us who had the RNY had it because we're big sweet eaters... don't get started again.
