Something weird and wonderful happened to me today

Awesome, congrats Nik.  This is an excellent post and hopefully those newer post-ops will understand more fully when we say it takes time.....a LONG time sometimes to actually see the differences and appreciate the new YOU.

How great a feeling that must be.  I am looking forward to seeing the real me and not what's in my head.  I love all your posts and I'm glad you are here.  You always give great advice and insight.

I'm so glad you finally got to see the beautiful lady that I've been seeing around here for years! Inside and out, you have been a true inspiration to so many, and seeing you so happy makes me smile, too!

I am glad that you see yourself today.  I truly understand.  I will be seven years out next month and still have vision trouble.  I wish I saw myself through my husband's eyes.  I think I could fully understand then.  When I look at my clothes laying out on the bed and I think Wow, I really fit into those.  But when I put them on I still don't see myself as small as everybody else does.  I glad to know that seeing the real you does come along eventually.  Congrats.

I'm screaming with happiness for you!!! That's a monumental mental achievement!!!!

Maybe its my new pre op hormones, but this made me really emotional. To the point I am holding back tears. I long for the day that I can look in the mirror and not instantly find every flaw. Its not even a weight issue specifically. To be able to look at myself and see me as a person and not a jumble of flaws and fat....it will be incredible.

Congratulations on such a massive NSV and life changing revelation.
