I have a cryo sleeve that i can wrap relatively tightly so that is what i used.  it still hurts but feels better tonight.  Ok, I will make a note to ask about the femoral nerve lock (I have a list of questions to ask the surgeon already).  What is a CPM unit?

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

The femoral nerve block, i believe, is standard procedure. Mine lasted until about mid-afternoon the next day and then i had that lovely morphine pump at my disposal.  You definitely want to make sure you hit that pump  before the PT folks come to work with you.

Oh dear... So sorry.  I'd gladly play with Gus... Come to So Cal where there isn't any ice or snow and I'll play with the cute little fluffball!!!

It is a femoral nerve block and it will make the day after surgery a breeze.  A CPM unit is a continuous passive motion machine that brings the elasticity back to the joint.  I think it prevent the kind of stiffness that makes PT sometimes painful.  Where will Gus go?

Gus will stay with his grandma while I am in the hospital, and then I will stay with her for a couple of days once I get out ****il I can handle stairs).
