Magnesium citrate and an emema...

I have no pre-op diet and the only prep is two suppositories and I think 24 hours of liquids.  You either flush out one end or the other, not usually both.

I had my choice of "flavors" of mag citrate.  I got a fruit punch flavored one.  The flavor was actually very mild and it was a bit "tingly". It wasn't horrible, but as someone else mentioned, was easier to drink down quickly when it was cold.  (I did mine in two stages.)  it really does seem like overkill to do all of those things.  I had to do an enema before another surgery once and it was not at all painful.

If that is what your dr said then you should follow his advice some dr want enamas until clear it is just his preferable because he/she will be the one cutting on you and some want you clean

I just used some Mag Citrate for some stubborn constipation after surgery (removed an ovary) and mine was lemon lime and I did lemon lime and stuck it in the fridge for 2 hours and drank half.  It worked in 5 hours, good enough for me.
