How many grams of sugar can you eat?
Hello!
I was wondering how many grams of sugar per serving everyone can eat? I'm 6 weeks out and able to eat more foods now. When I go shopping I look at the labels to see how much sugar is in items, but I'm not sure exactly what is acceptable.
Also is 1 gram of sugar the same as 1 gram of sugar alcohol?
Thanks everyone!
I'm OK with at least 15 grams at this point. Many people can eat more than that, some can't eat that much. I only worry about added sugar, not natural sugars in things like milk and fruit.
Sugar is not the same as sugar alcohol. Sugar alcohol is from some artificial sweeteners. It's often found in sugar free foods, like sugar free candy.

Not for most people, but it can for some.

I recall several people saying their surgeon's plan allows 6 grams of sugar or less. I try to keep it under 10, but I can eat pretty much anything now.
