tension headaches for 6 months now
i had bypass surgery 3 yrs ago. lost 90 lbs. doing fine. 6 months ago, i got a headache...it refuses to go away, ive been to my regular dr, ear/nose /throat, eye dr, chiropractor, accupuncturist, neurologist, infectious disease dr, had an MRI ....nothing !! being treated by the neurologist for tension headaches...with anti depressants and migraine meds. also having deep tissue massage at physical therapy. i still have a headache. i was wondering if anyone else in the WLS community is having this problem. my lab work is all good. any suggestions....thanks , nancy
These are a few things that have helped me.

i have the same problem, but i've had it long before my surgery. nothing works for me and unfortunately it has just become a part of daily life. i always have headaches, just some days they are worse than others. it's frustrating, but i've been to multiple neurologists and drs and nothing ever changes
I've had a migraine non-stop for over 5 years, and it has nothing to do with the WLS (at least in my case.) I was sort of hoping the weight loss would help, but no such luck.
How about a pain management doc? Maybe your neuro can recommend one. They can do things with steroid injections, etc. Nothing has helped me yet, but you may have better success. (I've had steroid injections in my forehead, temples, epidural spine, etc. I'm waiting for the neuro's office to get my Botox in so I can try Botox injecitons.)

I have had a constant migraine since 2004 and like you have seen all of the doctors mentioned and had all the tests. Everything has come back negative. The only thing that has helped is the Cleveland Clinic's IMATCH program. It is a 3 week dedicated, outpatient, multidisciplinary headache treatment clinic. They use everything from Neurology to Psychology to PT to Biofeedback and it is a very intensive, 9-5 program, 5 days a week for the 3 weeks you are there. They are tough but caring and fair in their assessment and will most likely "detox" you from most of your headache meds. It is an outstanding program and I can't say enough good things about it. It brought my pain level down from a constant 7 on a scale of 1-10 to a constant 3. I can live with that. You may want to consider giving their website a look or giving them a call.
I wish you the best of luck with your situation.
