has anyone on here tried womens rogain to help prevent excessive hair loss after surgery? What are some of the things people have done to help prevent or minimalize hair loss?

How do you know that it helped a lot?  How do you know how much (or little) you would have lost without it? It is not possible to know that something helped without some a fixed measure to compare it to, and everyone loses a different amount.  Some lose a lot and some lose very little.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

In my case I lost a lot of hair because the scalp was showing.I started using the shampoo and I noticed my hair started growing back pretty good,And my hair also stopped coming out, so I was not leaving my hair all over the place any longer.I'mj not saying it will work for everyone but I do know it helped me.Thats all I was saying in my 1st post.Beause everyone is different and if I can try to help someone with their hair issues I will because I'm also a hair stylist.

I understand that you are just trying to help and there's nothing wrong with that, of course (although someone might spend a lot of money on something with NO proven track record that will not help them at all... and God knows we have all spent enough money of weight loss products that did nothing... so I hate to see people throw away money on hair products or "firming" creams/lotions for stretched skin that do nothing).

My point remains, though.  You have no way of knowing that your hair loss stopped because of the products as opposed to it just being time for it to stop anyway (which sounds like the case if it was thin enough that you could see your scalp).  It simply isn't possible for you to say with any certainty that the products caused the hair loss to stop.  Everything I have ever read about telogen effluvium (including write-ups from places like The Mayo Clinic) indicates that you cannot reverse the process.

Rogaine and other such products will not help the telogen effluvium, which is the type of hair loss we experience after surgery.  The hair loss is from a change in the normal rest and growth cycles of the hair.  If you Google it, you can find a lot of information on it, including the fact that there is nothing to "treat" or prevent it.
