I finally downloaded photos from my real camera (instead of my iPhone).  Here is a picture of Max and Gus meeting.

We miss you, Mr. Max.

Aww such a good picture. I don't mind your pictures. My kids like seeing them too. My son saw Gus & wants one just like him. Lol

they are both adorable.   I havent been on here since you posted that you were going to be adopting one of the puppies, I am so glad that you finally got one.  What do you mean you miss Max?  You dont have both of these dogs in the picture?  I hope you enjoy Gus - he is absolutely adorable.  Have fun

I found out last week that Max had lymphoma.  He was vomiting, not eating, being lethargic.  The vet said he most likely had cancer elsewhere in his body, because he went downhill very fast, and when I realized he was in some kind of pain (and had not eaten a single bite for two days), I had him put down.  I got Gus Monday afternoon and had Max put down Wednesday afternoon.  He was only 6.

I am so sorry for what you went through with Max.  It must have been heartbreaking but I truely believe that was the reason for why Gus came into your life when he did to ease your pain.  It was amazing how you got 2 days before so they could meet and he was already in place when Max went to sleep.  He is no longer in pain.

It is amazing to me how pets can get all the same illnesses that adults can suffer from.  When I was in college, my favorite dog got sick at the age of 7.  At first my dad said it was diabetes and she had to give her insulin.  He said it wasnt so bad.  Then after a year, her kidneys started to fail and she started to lose her vision and was going to need to go onto dialysis.  That is when my parents decided to put her to sleep.  It was right during finals week during my junior year and they didnt tell me until after my brothers and I  came home to tell any of us.  As teenagers it was really hard on all of us especially since we never got to say goodbye.

Can you tell me how you inserted your picture of the puppy?  I have been trying to figure out how to insert a picture of a hug for you for the past 20 minutes and for the life of me, I cant figure it out and I am usually pretty good with computers.

Thanks.  Yes, I think maybe Max held on until I could get the puppy.  That might sound off the wall to some, but that's ok. I had been waiting for a red male, and had one that I was supposed to get in early December get out of his enclosure and get killed by an expectant female in the adjacent one, so I finally told them that I would accept a cream male instead.  If I had not done so, I would still be waiting, because they still have not had any more red male puppies (and the next litter that might have red puppies is from a dam that I don't think much of in terms of her looks),

To insert a picture, you have to upload the picture into the Photos area of your account and then copy it from there and paste it into a post.
