OT Daughter update

I was just thinking about this ...

I do think babies with any amount of hearing loss, they may be able to better benefit from CI the younger they are.  I don't know about older people like me, etc.  I did have a friend who had CI done in her 30's... she just had it removed due to constant headaches, (don't let this discourage you!).

So I'm happy that Chloe may be benefiting and learning  sign language as well!

Keep us posted if you can!

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

Congrats on doing what you can to give your daughter the best quality of life possible.

When my kids were young they played t-ball with boys that had a younger brother with CI.  One day another small boy (they were probably both 4) came up to the boy with the CI and asked his mom what that was.  The mom showed the little boy what her son had and all the equipment.  She said he has trouble hearing so he has a special computer that helps him hear. The boy looked it all over in amazement,  said, "COOOOL"! and ran off.  I thought it was a great explanation.

There is a man who just turned 65 at our church who just had CI put in.  He considered them nothing short of a miracle.  I hope your experiences the same.
