4 1/2 weeks post op question
It takes time with some foods and we can tolerate them at different stages. The first time I made and ate chili I got so sick. It was my first non soft food" experience at 8 weeks. A few weeks later I tried chicken. It was the dark meat and was very moist. Sick again. I tried ground beef about 4 weeks later and it was fine. I had to wait until month six before I could tolerate chicken.
At three years out I can eat just about everything. But getting to that point is a lot of trial and error.
Thank you. This is so much better than I ever expected. I had my 3 year check up yesterday. Labs are great. Surgeon is on cloud 9. I have lost 110% of my excess weight. I am 61 and had been obese since birth. I am literally the thinnest person I know now. Really weird though.
Just follow the rules and stick with your plan. I advise no or very limited cheating until you get where you want to be. By then you will have the discipline you need to be in control. Keep up the good work.
I could not handle meat like that until I was about 8 weeks out. I tried a pot roast in a crock pot. It was also falling apart. I measured the amount and ate it and had just about the same thing happen to me, but I barf easy and got rid of it rather than just suffer. Don't give up on it however. Now I can have it with no problems at all. Just give your body a little more time for things like that. I can eat just about anything now with the exception of shrimp, which I love, but it now makes me sick for some reason.

Larry,
Congrats on your amazing weight loss and thank you so much for you answer and encouragement. I have since talked to the surgeons office and they verify what you say. I think I will be a "barfer" too when something doesn't agree with my pouch. But that is good and a learning lesson. Back to boca burgers and soft foods for a while!
God bless the barfers! I just cannot do it. I can count the number of times that has happened in my life on two hands, including two pregnancies. I had the foamies twice since surgery but that is it................................ Fortunately it has not been an issue so I have not had to endure too mu*****onnection with feeling sick to my stomach.
