What am I doing wrong

I am 5 weeks post op and I weighed today and I have not lost any weight since my 2 week post op visit. I drink 70 to 90 grams of protein per day. My water intake is 48 oz and total calories is between 700-800 per day. I walk 2-3 miles per day. I'm so committed to my life style change. What am I doing wrong????? 3 weeks with no loss so early into is worrisome.

First off congrats on your surgery!...next don't sweat the number on the scale...you just had MAJOR surgery...your body is in wtf mode and it needs to catch up with your loss...most often you lose weight then plateau or stall and will lose inches....we didn't become smo overnight so we can't expect to be skinny overnight either...stay off the scale for awhile and follow your plan...-Bri-

To answer your question:  NOT A DAMN THING.

Have you not heard about the 3rd week stall?  Well stalls happen throughout your weight loss journey.  Not just immediately post-surgery.  Keep doing what you are doing and at some point you will be surprised as the scale gives you another great number.

Be patient.

Don't fret, weight loss will happen. Take your measurements so you can see the difference there when the scale isn't being so nice!!!

If it helps any, I am not seeing the same level of weight loss as others post, either.  However, I keep coming back to OH because I think I get more encouragement than I do discouragement.  Now that I am armed with a new gut system, I am going to fight harder than ever before no matter what.  Hang in there with me, andibrown, we can do it.

Muscle weighs more than fat! Just keep building that muscle and it will all even itself out!

Nothing.  Your weight loss will NOT be steady and there will be short periods of time along the way where you won't lose anything (and probably stalls that last longer periods of time).  It is VERY common for people to have a couple of weeks of no weight loss early on.  If you use the search function here and search for "week 3 stall"  or "early stall", you will find literally hundreds of posts about it!

I can attest to the third week stall too. Weight dropped off real fast the first two weeks then nothing for a few weeks.  After that I have pretty steadily lost 2- 3 pounds per week  with the occasional stall for about a week.   I am 10 weeks post op and have lost 47 lbs. Doc says I am ahead of schedule.
