weight loss vs inches lost ?s
Don't get me wrong I am ecstatic with my weight loss. If I stopped losing now I could live with it but I'd be much happier if... the inches in my waist would move down!!
I started with a 53 inch waist and currently at a 35 inch waist. I know that's nothing to sneeze at however it's the largest part of me STILL. I always said I looked like the "apple" guy on the fruit of the loom guys. round in the middle with smaller legs and arms sticking out of the apple. I've lost a lot of weight am nearing my personal goal weight wise but I can't seem to lose any inches in my waist lately. I have no legs, arms, butt, or chest to speak of left. I can't imagine losing anything in any of them, so I keep hoping that the belly will be next to go.
For those of you who are vets or at goal or past it. My question is does the fat redistribute itself once you've leveled out weight wise?
I know I've read and even given the advice to measure when someone's weight slows down or stops to see inches move. I've been very fortunate and never had a stand still or stall (knock on wood). The weeks I only lost 1-2 pounds I was losing inches in the first 3-4 mo. but now nothing seems to budge it.
I googled trying to find info on it but didn't find anything with the terms I was using so I thought I'd go right to the source, those who have been there done that. input please?
I wondered about it just being that shape Rosy but it never was until later in life. Last time I was this weight I was 9 mo preggers with my second daughter so yeah I was apple then lol but when I met my hubby at 151 I wasn't apple shaped it was more evenly distributed which is what I'm hoping for in the long run.

I don't personally know anyone for whom residual fat redistributed itself after they were done losing. It isn't like the fat cells are mobile within the body. Many people find that their faces fill out a bit so they look healthier, though (most people go through a stage where their faces look a bit gaunt and they don't look particularly healthy).
I was told -- and it seems to make sense to me -- that it takes longest to lose weight in the place where you carried most fo your weight. I have also been told that the body will give up fat in the extremities before it will give up fat around the torse because you can live without an extremity (e.g., in case of exposure to extreme cold) but you cannot live if your core body temperature drops. I am not sure how true that is, but there might be something to it.
I carried a LOT of my weight in my belly and thighs and those were, indeed, the places where the weight stuck around for longer than other areas. I still have a little bit of residual fat on my inner thighs, but at 5 years out it isn;t going anywhere...

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
