Completely OT: picture of Khan printed to canvas
Since there are lots of dog lovers on here, I wanted to share something I had done to my favorite photograph of Khan. I had it printed to high quality canvas and framed (an online place called CanvasPop). It now graces the wall of my guest bedroom. (Yeah, I need to replace the two small photos next to it... I will be getting some other canvas prints done to put on either side of Khan). I am VERY pleased with how it turned out (even the closer photograph doesn't do it justice).
(Yes, that is a stuffed cream Chow puppy on the bed, LOL.)

Yes, he was beautiful with a very thick mane. I hope the cream "replacement" puppy I am getting in January will have a similar coat (they have the same sire (who has a very thick coat), so that is definitely possible).

Oh, yes, LOTS of brushing with a Chow if you want it to look nice. I would give Khan a thorough brushing once a week (a weekend chore, taking about an hour) and then touch ups of his mane, tail, and withers a couple of times during the week. If I skipped the touch ups on areas that are prone to matting, or if I skipped one weekend, it was then a 2 hour process (in 2 or 3 sessions) the next time.
Unless I found a matted area, Khan enjoyed being brushed... if I did one area, then did his belly, brushed another area, then did his belly again, LOL...
