Back from vacation and a "normal" BMI
This has to be the first time ever I've been on a 7 day cruise and LOST weight!
We just got back from a wonderful "Christmas present" cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel trip and I was afraid to get on the scale. but I lost 2 pounds taking me into the "normal" bmi range. I've still got a long way to go but my experience on this trip makes me so happy I had the surgery 6 months ago.
This is our 5th cruise since Nov. 2010 and it was the most exciting time ever.
I took the stairs several times instead of using the elevator, I used to use it to go up or down even one floor. This time I traveled several floors at an almost jog on the stairs.
To celebrate the new me I went down the slide on the ship something before I never would have done for fear of what others would think. I felt normal for the first time in a very long time.
We walked all over the three stops and shopped and spent one afternoon jet skiing in the ocean, I can't believe how different life is.
I did get sick one day on the trip, constipation was the culprit along with some turkey that I probably ate too fast. But regardless it was much easier than I expected. Did I "cheat" on my eating plan, yes, am I upset no. Why? because they were planned cheats. I didn't put anything in my mouth I didn't think about first. My cheats were simple a couple bits of melting chocolate cake and ice cream each night at dinner. I shared the dessert with my husband and kept it well controlled. I can't help but be proud of myself for keeping control and thinking.
For anyone reading who is considering this surgery, go, make the appointment, talk to the doctor and get ready for the start of the rest of your life.
