Cream Chow puppy

The breeder called me tonight and offered me a cream male puppy from a litter that was born on Thursday. My preference was a red, of course, but after I waited for so many months and then the red puppy died, and it looked like the next litter with red ones would probably be in late Jan or Feb, I told them that I was willing to take a cream one if one of those came along sooner than a red one (knowing that one almost certainly would).

The sire is the same cream male that was Khan's sire, so I am excited about that --he has a FABULOUS thick coat (which Khan also had) and a medium "scrunchy" face, which I also like (that Khan did not have) -- and the dam is a black female with a beautiful shiny, coat (sometimes black chows have a dull coat, especially when they are outside a lot) and a very pretty face, so my puppy should be adorable! Of all the Dec and Jan litters, this is the one that would have been first on my list to get a puppy from, so that is nice.

Augustus/Gus doesn't seem quite right for a cream Chow, though, so I am once again trying to think of a name.

I really hope this one "happens" for you.  I know it must have been a frustrating wait, with that breeder. DAVE

At least this time, there are three cream males in the litter so if something happens to one of them, it can happen to someone else's puppy!

I couldn't be happier for you!  A cream color sounds beautiful and this was the baby you were meant to have.  Can't wait for baby pics!!!!!  Jane

Congratulations!   You'll fall in love I'm sure wink  and from your posts I'm sure you are a great  "parent" to your puppies!   We love our two "babies" we got after all the kids got married and I retired three years ago.

I'm so happy that you are getting another chance! I looked on-line and noticed that Hong is a good Chow name - it means Great.
