Running Shoes Question ??

I went to a running store too. I wear Brooks. I also need a bigger shoe, and it made a huge difference in my comfort going up to the right size.

I would go ahead and pay the money at the running store, rather than using their skills and then buying online. You don't usually save that much. Buy your first pair from the store, then your next online if you want.  I just do not think it is fair to use their skills and not pay them for it.  I would never have picked the pair I wear without the shoe guy.

Usually you can go in and say, "I am on a budget, don't show many anything over ____" and they will comply.

I know you mentioned a budget but proper running shoes are not where you want to skimp.  Your gait may be over-pronated, under-pronated or neutral.  Only a professional will be able to determine what is best for your foot and stride gait.  Save the money and get your first pair at a running specific store (not a chain athletic store).  Then after they determine the type of support you need, shop on ebay and overstock.com and buy a couple pairs of the shoe after you find what one works best for you.

The running shop determined that I need a moderate stabilizer and I found a perfect fit in Brooks Ravenna's.  Bought first pair from store and then next month found 2 pairs of last year's model at closeout prices and bought them so I only had to pay full price for the first pair.

Trust me, poor shoes or ones that do not provide the right support for your foot structure can cause significant injury to foot, knees, hips and lower back if you start putting in regular miles.

GOOD FOR YOU FOR STARTING!!!  I started my running program with the C25K and I fully believe in that program although I made myself repeat week 5 because it was a challenge for me so it took me 10.5 weeks to complete but that's what makes it so great because you customize it to your progression.

I am creating my own revolution and PAMdemonium reigns!

Asisic gels a little tight with thin socks nary them on a head of time and walk all ober the store making sure heel doesn't come up at all.  They cost around $90, but if you look hard at Marshall's or TJ Maxx, you can get them for 39 dollar**** or miss, but I scored a pair at Marshall's before surgery and they make all the difference
