Surgery Scheduled

I have looked a few sites and lingered reading everyone's stories, accomplishments and problems but I have found that I really like this site and how much you all care about each other.

I am 33 I have 4 children. I started my path to Gastric Bypass in May 2012 my insurance required 6 month of recorded weight loss with my pcp, and of course my psych visit and lab testing.  It took me a couple of extra months due to my endearing children and breaking a few bones during sports this past year but I love them and those extra couple of months really helped me prepare my mind for this life time commitment.  

I am ready to be healthy, ready to be able to shine and for everyone to see that my personality matches my looks

I am scheduled for my surgery on 2/11/13 only 1 1/2 weeks after insurance approval :) I did not realize it would be so fast but I am excited and well a little nervous but I am getting more ready everyday.

I am a little nervous about making sure I drink and get my vitamins in but I am sure that will all get easier as the days go by.  

Congrats on the date.  It is good that it is soon and will give you less time for worrying. Look at the the Before & After pics, knowing that you will have a set there pretty soon!

Congratulations!!!  I too expected there to be a gap between my approval and my scheduled date.  I ended up declining the first 2 options and took a week later (I hope that wasn't a mistake).  I have some loose ends to tie up at work and it allows me to be with my granddaughter through her 8th birthday and Father and Daughter dance!!!

I think that this forum is wonderful! I don't think that I would have felt as comfortable with this process if it weren't for the vets who helped me years ago. You sound like you are ready for the process and I am happy for you. It is a one day at a time process, but a good one. The vitamins will become habit but a necessary one for life, not just during the losing phase.

Congratulations on getting your date! This is the time that many get the 'should I try to do it on my own' jitters. You will do great. Let us know when you feel up to it and remember, we are here for support 24/7
