One year ago today..... [PIC]

Exactly one year ago today I went under the knife in hopes to save my health and life. With a starting BMI of 53 I was considered Super Morbidly Obese. Today my BMI is at 31, still going down. I'm down 118lbs from my highest weight and still losing, only slower. My health is no longer compromised. I no longer have Type 2 Diabetes, with my most recent a1c 5.6 compared to my highest ever a1c of 10.5. I can walk, exercise, enjoy life.

I saw my surgeon today. He said I am already considered a success by standards, but I still want to lose more and will lose more. I would like to see my BMI somewhere under 29 at least, if not lower. I'll get there. My labs were mostly good except my D and Iron still sitting on the low end of normal. I will get them up.

I was given a second chance at life and I'm more than thankful for it. I feel better today than I have in years :-) I would also like to thank everyone on here for the support, tough love and all :-) Without it I would have already failed.

I really enjoyed reading this! Congratulations! I look at this surgery much like you do - a second chance at a long and healthy life. You're well on your way to your goals! Woo hoo :)
