Its amazing to me that I work in a building with 20 people that I see on a day to day basis, and only ONE person has noticed I lost weight.  I'm not talking 10 pounds here, I'm talking 60+ pounds!!  I guess I should be happy, they didnt go around saying "Man you've gain alot of weight" when I gained it, but REALLY!

Then on top of it all...my husband decided to start "eating right" and has lost about 10 pounds already (and trust me I'm extremely proud of him).  We were out walking the other day and our neighbor came out (hes a Navy Seal...and can you say cute! LOL) and the three of us were talking and he looks at my husband and says "hey..looks like you lost some lbs..good job"..ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

Ok, my pity party is done.  I'm happy, I'm a happier person, and I'm healthier, that shoudl be enough..but...OY! cool

Just like you said, they didn't comment when you gained, many people do not find it okay to comment on weight, whether it is a loss or a gain.  Your neighbor probably felt comfortable to comment on hubby's weight because he is a man and "in the club".

Be proud of your success.  People notice, I promise.  Keep up the great work.

I was complaining to my doc a few years ago about this. I had lost 46 lbs and no one but good old Mom said a word. I said it kind of takes the thrill out of it and doc said "People may not notice but your body notices every pound you lose. It is so grateful and tells you so in 100 ways - less knee pain, better blood pressure, better cholesterol, more energy - an endless list of thank you from the body." So the body is really what matters. You love it and take care of it and it will take care of you. Not that Navy Seal .... although .... well, we won't go there.

I had to lose 80 lbs. before anyone even noticed. No one said a thing., Then all of a sudden everyone had something to say! Sometimes people just dont notice, especially those that we see on a daily basis. Dont worry, people will start to notice it soon enough and then you'll be tired of those comments!

Other people's weight, loss or gain was an issue to me... Because I was always sensitive to my own. Maybe they feel uncomfortable bringing the subject up.

I think a lot of men are afraid to comment on a woman's weight loss. So far, only 1 guy at work has mentioned my 50 pound loss to me. And, I work for a construction company with a LOT of men LOLOL.

I had to lose 75 pounds before anyone noticed!!  I still have family members who have no clue that I've dropped so much weight and gone down 2 clothing sizes or anything!

It's so hard for me, too, because i hate being the center of attention but yet I want the affirmation that I look different.  Basically, nobody around me can win!  LOL!

I don't know if it is that I started work a little over a month before my surgery and was out for 6 weeks but not one person has mentioned my weight loss to me and I'm almost 90lbs down.
