I just googled Pancreatitis Acute and wikipedia gave common and not so common causes. The one cause that caught my eye was malnutrition. Malnutrition does not always mean too low. Here is wikipedia definition of malnutrition...
Malnutrition is the condition that results from taking an unbalanced diet in which certain nutrients are lacking, in excess (too high an intake), or in the wrong proportions.
I would suggest that when you follow up with your physician that you ask for nutritional screening blood tests to see if you have too much or too little or out-of-balance nutrients.
Are you taking supplements and if so, how much and what kind and when are you taking them? Do you drink coffee and take them around that time (interferes with calcium absorption), or do you take iron with milk products (same problem). Are you swallowing pills whole or do you crush them or are they designed for chewing in the mouth?
More info would help.

Routine blood work for a yearly physical exam are not usually the same as nutritional blood work which usually results in 5 to 8 tubes of blood (might be done is a little less now as it was some years ago I worked for the lab). A hematologist studies blood disorders, not metabolic disorders. There are many different "labs" within the general term of "the lab." There is chemistry, micro, hematology, serology, virology, and so on and so on. There are specialists in each of those separate lab departments. I'm thinking that your doctor will likely order some specialty nutritional screens. When I drew blood on patients with nutritional panels, there was special tubes to use and special handling of the tubes. They often were shipped out to specialty labs. The one thing you wrote in your reply that my doctor said not to do is that you take them at night (I assume that they are taken all together or at least in a short time period). I was told that with the RNY I was to spread the supplements out throughout the day because there was a limit to how much the body could absorb and to maximize absorption, one has to "dose" oneself throughout the day or it just goes through the system without being used. This was emphasized also by the nutritionist who just recently asked me to describe my daily routine of eating including when and how I take my supplements. Hope this explanation helps a little.
Are u taking all of your supplements at night? If so I am wondering if that could be a problem.
I had two bouts with pancreatitis last year prior to having my gallbladder removed. During that time I was confined to the hospital and was not permitted to eat or drink anything. All I got was IV fluids until I was asymptomatic. It was my understanding that was the protocol for treatment of pancreatitis. I am wondering if they should have sent you home.
Hope you feel better soon and get some answers.
