Lose, shift, lose, shift.

That's what my body seems to do. I lose weight steady for a while and then my weightloss stalls and my body just shifts for a while. I am in shifting mode right now. I haven't lost anything in a couple weeks but tried on some hand-me-down jeans yesterday that I looked at and laughed "this will never fit my fatass" (I mean it in a nice way, not trash talking myself haha). Well, the jeans fit. Three pairs of size 12 jeans fit me. So instead of being sad because I am stalled yet again, I am going to appreciate the way my body does what it does. I'm learning to not let the scale dictate my moods. The way I look should dictate it and the way I feel. I never took measurements ever but wish I had. Anyone just getting started... MEASURE YOURSELF!!! You will thank yourself later when you have weightloss and shifting patterns like mine. That is all :-)

My body does this about same dance, about every ten pounds or so it seems.  I'll lose from the upper end of a weight range down to the lower end relatively quickly and then need to hang out there for a while. I say oh well... I'm doing the right things and it's all coming off eventually so if my body wants to try to hang out to it, it can try!

I didn't take measurements either, or really any specific progress pictures either. I do regret it now.

I feel like I only really lose 1 week out of the month...normally the week before my period. I'll lose 3-5lbs in that week then I'll "regain" .5-1lb and it will fluctuate that .5-1lb for about another 2 weeks. Normally by the time the 30th(my surgery day and weigh in day for the month) the .5-1lb is gone and I'm back to that low I had. This has been my pattern since about 7 months post op or so.

Right now I'm just bummed because I weighed in at my low this morning..140 but none of my jeans fit because I'm swollen still from surgery I had on friday..boo me!

Anyways..keep up the great work!

Yep, that's a familiar pattern for me too.

I'm actually jealous. I think this but rarely say it on every stall post I see but since you're okay with how you are changing I'm gonna vent it out here. I have lost weight every week since surgery. Sure some weeks are 1 pound others are 5 but I've consistenly lost. BUT I have had NO shift!!! I want the shift!! I've lost tons of inches and have no boobs, no butt, no legs but my belly is still big. I'm having the same issues with clothes I had when I was bigger. I need one size for the waist and about 2 sizes smaller everywhere else which makes finding pants impossible. I wish I had some shift in inches to anywhere else on my body it wants to go. Sorry to hijack with my vent but I am jealous and not too proud to admit it! lol

I agree that everyone should take their measurements!!

Right there with ya! I'm hitting 6 months and I wanted a good loss before my check up with the Dr....5 pounds this month...my body is shrinking and clothes feel better...but need another 25-30 pounds to get on some cute jeans I bought. I wanted to measure and take monthly photos....maybe with the 6 months I can get some photos. Life has been hectic! Hope my Dr will be happy with my progress but won't be near his 30% expectation.

I'm at 99 with the 17 I lost before surgery....another 15 would be great! I need to stop stressing and maybe that'd help A LOT.

Anyway, your doing great!

I started noticing that pattern too. I'm glad I measured myself when I started losing. It has helped big time to see the inches fall off when the weight is at a stand still.
