I have nothing to add except, may I live vicariously through you? I can't afford either. Now or in the forseeable future. lol.

I'm not able to really afford it myself. My bf mentioned getting me one for Christmas and I'm thinking I will take him up on it (He recently got a job after spending a few years going back to school so he feels the need to shower me now that he can lol).

Honestly, it depends on your personal needs.

I like my iPad for watching movies on airplanes, but it is heavier than the mini.  The mini has an excellent display and graphics, and honestly is not a bad size for watching movies.

I like the Kindle for reading due to e ink, but if you were going to use it as a reader, then the mini is less cumbersome than any iPad version.

If you are thinking of it to replace a computer, the blue tooth keyboard rocks.

I find that I use my iPhone for all things mobile, the iPad for movies and a few apps - and the laptop for everything else.  I think you would be happy with either and go with what work in your budget.

i mostly use my ipad 2 for reading, both for school and for fun. if i had the option i probably would have gotten the mini because the regular ipad is kind of bulky for that use, which really is the only thing i use it for. so i think it would depend on how you plan on using it.

the mini is TOO over priced for what it is offering right now. it doesn't even have retina display. but then again I don't think the ipad 2 does either. Basically if you are debating about the mini or the 2, then it comes down to size, that is about the only difference between those two. Otherwise if you want something the size of the mini you could look into the Nexus, its cheaper and better then the mini at this point in time.  But if you can hold out, and you like the size of the mini, I would wait and see what they come out with next. Maybe in Jan they will update the mini and give it the technology upgrade it should have now.

just my 2 cents opinion.......
