Need help with Water Ideas Please
Just wondering what everyone is drinking. I am doing fine with my protein, and honestly with my weighloss, but I do know I'm not drinking enough. I really cant stand plain water, so I was using the Mio to make it taste better, but now I cant stand those either. I'm at a total loss. I don't like sweet stuff anymore (shocking!), I cant stand tangy stuff (lemonade ect), so looking for some suggestions.
Also, when I make a protein shake, I use water instead of milk, does that count as some of my water intake? Just wondering..lol
Thanks for your help
Dina
I found that I did not like Crystal Light, instant tea, etc. after surgery, but I discovered that I DID like Propel. I have no idea why that was different, but it was. I also found that adding just some lemon to plain water made it more palatable. I have never been able to drink much water (too much makes me nauseous), but when I do drink it, it has to be ice cold. That bothers some people early out, but wasn't a problem for me.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I've found that SoBe lifewater, the 0 calorie ones that have no sugar are pretty good. Just check the label - most of them I have no problem with but one I did and come to find out, different flavors actually have different nutrition facts. Just because one zero calorie flavor is sugar free doesnt mean another is, lesson learned the hard way :( - Some of the G2 gatorades are sugar free or less than 1 gram as well.
Hot tea (warm really) was a staple for me BUT I can tolerate the iddy bit of caffeine - some cannot...I would check with your surgeon maybe? I don't know how far out you are etc as I've not been on this board for a while. (shame on me :( )

I like plain lemon juice in water
crystal light- but most times it is too sweet so I only use half the package for 32 oz of water
With the cold weather I have been getting spice apple herbal tea. I find warm drinks are easier to drink then cold ones are.
Decaf coffee and tea
I try to get half my water in by noon and that keeps me on track too.
Water is my most challenging part of the program.
Good luck and great question!
Count all your liquids - protein shakes, whether you make them with milk or water, popsicles, jello, broth, etc.
I love decaf iced tea, and I love hot tea, too, but black tea (usually I use decaf) and herbal. You can add a little lemon or lime to plain water, or put a few cucumber slices in it. You can use crystal light and you don't have to use the full amount recommended in the directions, if that makes it too sweet or too tangy. You can have decaf coffee, sugar free hot chocolate, or sugar free hot apple cider.

For something not fruity, how about some broth? I like that in the evening for something warm and soothing. My pouch prefers room temp or warm liquids.
I'm not a tea fan, but decafe coffee or tea warm or iced can be a nice change in flavor.
