Drinking with a straw?

Hello All -

Wondering if it is OK to drink with a straw.....my Dr. said no straw but my hubby bought me the cutest cup with owls on it with a hot pink straw.  I was naughty and drank some of my water with it today......will I stretch out my pouch?

No, there is no way it could stretch out your pouch.  Some people suck in too much air with a straw and get gas that makes them uncomfortable.  If that happens, you probably don't want to use a straw.  Many people have no problem drinking with one, though.  If it feels comfortable for you, it's fine to use one.

I am actually thinking of going back to using one because I get more liquid in faster than drinking from the glass.

I drink through a straw all the time and have never had any trouble.

While I am very obedient with regard to changes my surgeon suggested, there are some things, such as drinking through a straw, that I have incorporated back into my life as the years have passed because there is no harm to it if it does not cause problems.

 

Personally I do better drinking from a straw, so I use them whenever I can.

 

Yea I got the whole no drinking from the straw instructions, but I've tried it a few times and doesn't seem to be any issues when I use it.

It did not give me gas so I guess I will be using them more often!!  I too can drink more using them!!  Funny how that is??

Thanks for posting this cause I've been wondering too. I might try it and see how I do. I too have problems getting in all of my fluids so it might help me out
