Lightheadedness & Dizziness
So around 10:30 this morning I had 1/2 cup of chicken thigh meat. Around 11 I felt lightheaded and dizzy. It came on very suddenly and I felt like I was going to faint. This lasted some time and finally about 12:30 I decided to eat a bit of chili beans. After I had a bit, I waited 30 mins then drank some powerade and started to feel much better. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?
I'm with Dee. It does sound like low blood pressure. Mine runs low and dips even lower if I get dehydrated, which happens much more quickly after surgery, and also if I do not get enough salt.
I fight badgers with spoons.

Low bp issues affect more than a few post ops. At around 3 mo. post op, I felt dizzy several times. It got so severe when out of the home, I'd either sit down right away (one time in the isle of Best Buy) or grab onto something until the spell subsided. I sought out a diagnosis with my PCP. I also had dizzy issues that were so bad, that I actually passed out, and awoke several seconds later flat on the floor. Back of bp meds, change of meds, 2 Holter Monitor tests, one Event Monitor test, and other tests did not reveal a definitive diagnosis. I had 2-3 intermediate diagnosis' , but further testing disproved those. I finally got a referral to a cardio doc. One more Holter Monitor test, and I had a diagnosis. I had irratic low bp issue, and the only way to resolve this was to have a Pacemaker implanted. Diagnosis was on a Thursday, and implant was done on the following Tuesday. No more issues since then. I have zero family history of heart or low bp issues. I likely will need my battery replaced within this year, according to my last Pacemaker checkup. So this might be more serious than you thought. I just thought I might need a medication adjustment--no idea I needed the Pacemaker surgery. DAVE

Thank you everyone..I think I am going to follow up with my PCP, BUT I had a couple of dizzy spells over the summer (pre-surgery) and I've done all the tests...even been completely cleared by a cardio. So, I'm not sure what she will be able to do at this point, other then do the Holter's all over again...but I've even had a 30 day monitor. I'm hoping they will take my surgery into consideration when deciding how to test me.
With that diagnosis, I would definitely follow up with your doc; start with your pcp. Your weight loss and changing body dynamics may have worsened the bradycardia and also had some effect on lowering your blood pressure. What was your heart rate when you were given the diagnosis of bradycardia? Do you check your pulse regularly? If not, you need to. Check it at rest, when sitting, after getting up, etc., and keep a journal for your physician.
