5 month pics! Excited!
I'm hoping the exercise changes the abs. Up until a couple of weeks ago I couldn't get in 800 calories which my doctor wanted me at before exercising. Today I used a coupon for a free 2 week trial at the local gym. I want to see if I'm gonna use it before I pay for it. Today I worked the weights including my abs. I am worried about loss of muscle in my legs and arms so I am working them as well. I joined more for that then the cardio but I even did the bike and the elipitical today for a little while. A work in progress indeed! Thanks!
That sounds like a good plan. Since it is free for two weeks, try to go every day if you can. Just to illustrate what worked for me: I've worked up to:
100 ab crunches, 145 lb weights, in 7 to 10 minutes, ..sets of 10 to begin, 20 now.
100 leg presses (tightens the thigh and butt ) at 140 lb weights,
recumbent bike for 15 min, level 15.
treadmill 20 min ( increasing it a little daily). I only started this two weeks ago so I'm up to a light jog (cardio level) for the last 5 minutes.
two or three other machines on alternating days. Most of my levels are fat burning with some cardio.
I'm 74 so I'm sure that you can do more right at the start but the build up in strength is amazing.

thanks for the notes. I am working on rebuilding lost muscle with minor thoughts of calorie burn. i'm just barely getting in 800 calories most days and I don't want to burn too many that I end up back in starvation mode. I got out of that quickly when I saw my weight stall by seriously working on upping my calories to 800. there was no trainer there today due to it being a Sunday but i plan on meeting with one tomorrow for advice. If the two weeks works out well I will join and get 2 consults free by joining. I plan to use one now and one in a couple of months when I see where my body is. I've printed off the free coupons for my hubby, adult daughter and her hubby to see if they will go with me. I think I need someone to push me in the door til it can become a habit.
