Semi-OT: Got my official "poll watcher" certificate; would not have done this before

I received my official "certificate of appointment of observer" in an email today. I am very excited. I have never done this before, but I will be observing and using a smartphone app to mark off everyone who has voted at my assigned precinct. (It also gives me a way to immediately contact the party's legal team in the unlikely even that there are any problems at the polling place.)

It might sound silly, but this is something I never would have done when I was SMO. In fact, one of the LAST things I would have wanted to do was something where I would potentially be seen by a large number of people.

Regardless of the presidential candidate you support (please don't turn this into a debate thread), if you are registered to vote, get out there and do it (if you have not already done so)!

I agree - get out and vote.  It is so important!

Iowa has early voting, and I have already voted.  This election could be a real nail-biter.

Sounds like a neat opportunity!  I love watching people, not so sure about people watching me.  I agree...vote!

Congrats Lora!!! (Notice that I am using something but my normal Comic Sans font that you have trouble with kiss) It is amazing that after years of being 'normal' that we can still have these WOW moments!

I am going to register to vote in my new town today, and I will vote tomorrow!

In WA state you can vote in person or by mail in ballot.  I mailed my ballot in last week.  Great job on being appointed observer!

I am looking forward to getting less mail from everyone running for office.  It clogs my mail box too much.
