new body shape emerging

Even when I was at my thinnest, I carried a lot more extra weight around my butt and thighs. I always considered my self a "pear" shape.
As of today, I have lost 31 pounds and am down to 216. I am noticing that most of the inches that I'm losing seem to be in my butt and thighs. My belly seems to be just as large and my boobs are still the same as well. I seem to be transforming from a pear to an apple.
Has anyone else noticed that the shape of their body totally changed? I know that when we lose weight our bodies change, but I mean has anyone else noticed that the fat left just one particular area?

Hi Jennifer. im pretty much keeping my same shape except more belly than before i had kids. i always lose a lot from my butt and thighs which sux but the more you lose the more you will probably level out

Well I'm at 99 pounds gone and I've noticed everything is much much smaller except for my boobs. Like honestly I went from a tight 40 DD to a 34 F... And I thought I was going to be able to shop at Victoria's Secret again! In all honesty I've always had a big tummy and thunder thighs and I notice an overall fairly even fat disappearance.

Your shape will likely change again. When I was my current weight the first time around (189), I was trimmer in the hips and top heavy. I wore one full size larger on top to accommodate my chest. Flash forward through a 125 lb gain and loss, and now I am bigger in the hips than the bust by a couple of inches, but the same size fits top and bottom.

It's weird.. When I got married 25 years ago I was a size 16.. I weighed less back then.  Now I am fitting into size 14 jeans and weigh more and have about 40lbs to lose. Makes me wonder what size/shape I'll end up at.

I'm in the same boat.  I now have skinny legs.  I've never had skinny legs.  I can't wait to see where I end up!  Congratulations and good luck to you!

I'm one of the odd ones too. I lost on my lower half for the last two months. Maybe it was some water weight and the fact I built up some muscle doing stairs. I'm 2 months and barely 1 week out and now, all of a sudden, I'm dropping upper chest and shoulder fat and the tops I thought 2 weeks ago that would fit me for at least one more month look awful so I'm donating them. My legs have stayed the same for about 2 weeks. So, I guess some of us could lose inches in a haphazard way. I was a slight pear before my massive weight gain after a car accident in my mid-thirties. I'm curious what I will be when I reach a goal weight! We'll have to check in with each other down the road.

Everyone loses at different rates and from different parts. For me it was my butt, legs, thighs and face first. Then my chest and stomach followed suit. I'm 81 pounds down now and a very happy size 8. Don't worry you'll even out with time and exercise!
