Down 115 lbs in seven months!
Thank you. I have been so negligent with pics. I will definitely have to take a couple soon. Good luck on Monday!
Awesome Job! I bet that feels super awesome?! I thank god everyday I wake up that I did this surgery - it really is a life changer in the best way possible. I know exactly how you feel. It is fun to actually want to weight yourself and see what you look like in clothes and the whole thing.
I had surgery July 26th and I am now down a total of 62lbs as of this morning. I can't even tell you awesome that feels. I still have a ways to go, but reading your journey has kept me even more motivated (if possible).
Love to read these updates, it helps us all!
Thank you and congratulations to you! It is the best thing I could have done for myself. No regrets! I feel great and according to just about everyone who has known me for years, I look like a new person, younger and all. All of that is great to hear but ultimately, it is all about the way I feel about myself. I am loving every day!
Hi Lisa, Congrats on your success... You are truly an inspiration for us all.. I had my RNY on Sept 5th, so I am 7 weeks post op and I have only lost 24 lbs since the surgery. I have gone from a size 2-3x pants to size 20 and lost alot of inches... but I am getting a little depressed about the weight... I can never seem to get all my protein in, I eat like 5 times a day, and I dont seem to get in all my liquids either.. I hate plain water, so it is Splenda in everything and alot of SF popsicles... I had a problem with my sciatic nerve and went to Physical therapy for 3 weeks before I came back to work, so I have just started to exercise ( walking and riding a bike).... Do you have any tips you could share that got you thru the first 3 months of this journey? Thanks for sharing all the details too, I have the flabby inner thighs and the batwings too.... try not to focus on that stuff... love being able to cross my legs at my desk and give away all my "Fatter" clothes..... I will eagerly await your reply! Have a great weekend ! :)
Hello Jen!
Thank you. The first 3 months are the hardest, no doubt. I mostly did liquids the first three months, although when I felt hungry I would try something solid. I never stopped drinking coffee so I just added protein powder to my coffee. After a lot of experimenting, I decided that my personal choices for protein are Isopure Zero Carb (vanilla, chocolate, cookies & cream, and unflavored) and Unjury Protein (all flavors including chicken). To me, they dissolve the best in liquids (especially Unjury) and the have the lowest calories and greatest amount of protein per serving. For instance, my morning coffee is instant coffee (or brewed if I have time to make it), non-dairy creamer, 2 scoops of Isopure vanilla and Torani's SF syrup. I live out of my Blender Bottles so I will get about 26-28 oz of fluid here and 50 grams of protein.
I got creative with the protein as well, I would add unflavored protein to just about anything to get the extra dose of protein. I used the chicken flavored protein to sip or add to savory foods like eggs, beans, chicken broth.
I also drank Isopure protein drink, comes in a glass bottle and different flavors, it has 40 grams of protein and is about 20 oz. Sometimes, i would try to drink two a day. It is kind of expensive but in those early days, you can't get too much down at once anyway so it will last.
I hate plain water, too. Always had to add Crystal Light or tea or something. Anytime you do, add a scoop of unflavored protein.
As far as exercise, I walked a mile a day increasing to 3 miles. I tried to walk everyday but sometimes I didn't. Now, I mostly do dance classes and don't walk at all really.
I hope this has helped some, if there is anything you want to ask about specifically, please ask! Thank you and keep up the good work!
