Cold Medicine?

Can anyone tell me if its ok to take Sudifed for a Cold?  I'm over a month out from surgery and now Ihave this nasty cold that is knocking me out!!!

I didn't try Sudifed, but i did take Tylenol cold and i did just fine......

 The Sudafed you have to sign at the pharmacy for can be dehydrating but works the best.  Just make sure you stay well hydrated.  I usually take the new stuff (the stuff you don't have to sign your life away for) and a few Tylenol and maybe throw some Mucinex (the stuff with just the G medicine in it and nothing else) in there for good measure so I can sleep at night.
