question about beans

I am going to try beans tommorrow night, I want to make pintos and cheese like from taco bell but home made. Is cheese ok at this stage if it is melted.

I just assumed that if the beans were ok, the cheese was, too. That's become my favorite meal...refried beans, small amount shredded cheese, dollop of plain Greek yogurt and a packet (or two) of Taco Bell mild sauce! Yummy!
Tonight, I made 13 bean soup with chicken breasts in the crock pot. Cooked all until very tender and the beans were all mushy, the chicken just shredded apart. I had my 1/4 cup of that with a small amount of cheese, yogurt and sauce. It was also dinner for my family, but they had crumbled corn chips on top. Sooo good and filled with protein!

why did you mix yogart in it, does it act like sour cream. I am having a really hard time tolerating the yogart and i have trie many ways to make it taste better.

Yes cheese is fine. Whether or not it's low fat is your choice.

Hi Jan, I am 6 weeks post-op and still struggling with getting enough protein. Can you share your crock pot recipe that you noted above? Sounds like something I would like to try..Thanks....
