Missing crunch - what's a good choice?

I use Kashi cereal that I measure into a 1 oz container and take with me. Otherwise, at home, if I start on it I have a tendancy to graze too much. I now have it into a habit as a treat for when I'm going to work on the train and bus routes. Fun.

Great suggestions so far!  I can only add fiber 1 cereal, which isn't very high in protein at all, but I add some to my greek yogurt to give it a bit of crunch.

Yikes, looking at your surgery date, I would be careful with most of the suggestions made for crunchy stuff.  My surgeon's protocol restricted my diet early on.  I don't think I added nuts until much further out.

I remember eating alot of sugar free popsicles in the beginning.  Something about the cold popsicle cured my cravings for anything else.

Now that I am nearly a year out, I eat celery, carrots, nuts and reduced fat triscuits for crunch.  I think I started eating the reduced fat triscuits pretty early out....maybe 5 weeks.  I would nibble a little bit and chew it really well.  It seemed so odd to me that a snack of one or two triscuits was enough.  That took some getting used to!

I eat almonds or get a bag of sunflower seeds. Something about popping those shells open just keep my hands busy. Another thing that I eat are Gerber Graduates little crunchies in cheese or veggie dip flavor. They are found in the baby food aisle. It's a baked whole grain corn snack with 35 cal, 1.5g fat, 4g carb, and 0g protein. I guess you could dip them in some yogurt to add protein.
