One month out - and hungry??

So I am four weeks out from surgery - and I am hungry! I hear everyone talking about how they do not feel hunger and it eventually comes back, but I feel it! Its driving me nuts :( . I only eat 1/4 cup of food about 2x's a day. I get the rest of my protein from shakes and most days I am able to get my water in. But I do crave food - shrimp especially for some reason lol and I feel hungry. Sometimes when I go to bed, my stomach is growling!! I am so disappointed because I was really counting on not feeling hungry at all. Did anyone else feel like this so early out?
It's a misconception that no one is hungry after surgery. I started feeling hunger about two weeks post op.
Since you are only eating two times a day, it may not be enough. Is that what your plan stipulates? If not, you might try food instead of shakes. Shakes, being liquid, funnel through your stomach and will not stay with you for long, hence your hunger.

Well I know when I have head hunger and I try to just stay busy those times. But I feel true hunger! My plan says 3 small meals a day and supplement with protein shakes. But often even after my 1/4 cup of food, I still feel hungry as if I could eat a bit more, but I do not. My plan says soft foods, I see my surgeon in 3 days so I will ask him then what else I can eat, but I see many people on here eating something small every 3-4 hours and that seems to work for them, I wonder if that is something I should try to do. Not a whole meal of course, but a little something. I'm thinking if I eat a protein, it will help me stay full and give me more protein from foods?
I felt the same way on soft food once I was able to add back in dense protein I don't feel it as often. I am hungry every day at lunch but all I have for breakfast is a protein shake because food makes my belly queasy in the morning. But then at dinner I'm rarely hungry if I had dense protein at lunch time. Food that stays there longer seems to do the trick for me. Hopefully you'll find this true in your next phase.
What about eating little things like Parmeasan Crisp? I am 3 weeks out and now that I can have cheese I have been doing those as a snack.
And i feel you on the craving shrimp, I made sauteed shrimp the other night for dinner, then cut it up really good added a little light mayo and eat it as a shrimp salad.
