Calories - how many do you eat?

I was never told to count anything but protein, and I stopped tracking food before I was 9 months out, but I track for two days a couple of times a year just to make sure my protein/fat/carb percentages are where I want them. Based on that, though, I eat 1200 - 1400 calories a day (and I eat about the same way at 5 years out that I did at 1 year out... a few more carbs, and maybe slightly bigger meals, but that's about it).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I was just thinking that for myself too! I drink 400 to 500 just in 4 cups of protein/skim milk powder per day, plus my real food on top of that. I guess if I just switched to only water I'd be down to 600 a day, but then my protein intake would be so low! Like even in my fist weeks out I had 8 cups of liquid protein powder a day which would be at least 800 cal. I think you and I have had really great steady results of weight loss, so I guess as long as it works for us on higher calories we must be fine :) but like I say, even my first few days out, I was already at the very least 800 to 1000 cal per day. I was never told to count my calories tho, only to get 70 to 90g of protein at least per day, and I don't know how else to get that much with less calories?

Started at 500 by NUT and surgeons. Now they have me up to 900 at 5 months. I will get more soon, I think.

At my 3 mo visit I asked the doc about this as I was lucky to get in 400-500 a day he told me I need to be at 800, Another month has gone by and I'm still around 500 most days. When I really push myself and eat off plan I can get to 800 but those aren't always the healthiest choices so I'm struggling with calories still.
