My first two body change acknowledgments:

1) I found that immediately after the scale numbers started going down, I have not had ANY back, knee or ankle pain...guess its my body's way of saying "For the love of God, THANK YOU!

2) On the more personal side...I was getting ready to take a shower.  I reached behind me to grab my brush off of the counter.  As I did, I just happened to glance in the mirror (which is seldom cause I hate seeing myself naked), and to my surprise, my cottage cheese butt isn't as cottage cheesy as it used to be!  My butt used to remind me of a couple of oval golf balls...saggy and very dimply...now it's looking less oval (starting to lift thanks to the uphill walks), and a lot less dimplage going on ;)

Just thought I'd share!

My butt has the whole dairy dept in there, but I am 17 days post op and walking just over a mile now and next week I can start gently at the Y again. I had my surgery to save my knees( and lose weight) and every day I have without knee pain is so amazing. I am so looking forward to what this journey will bring.. The hardest part for me is getting the water in. But each day gets a little easier. Good luck and here's to a dairy free posterior! :-)
