Post Op Must Haves
RNY on 08/22/12
I am 5 weeks post op and I LOVE my baby spoon collection and my appetizer plates and sauce bowls. It helps me to keep my portions in check and take teeny bites. I also needed ice - I know people told me that ice would hurt my pouch but it actually felt good for me. And buy at least 1 can of refried beans - that was my first pureed food meal and it was heavenly. A fun water bottle is also good!
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
Congrats on the surgery date!
Must haves.....PILLOWS. For behind you and for your stomach. If you have a recliner, I would use that for the first two weeks. Cause getting in & out of bed ended up hurting me more than anything!
Clothes that were BIG around the waist. I had my surgery Aug 28th and until last week, the most comfy thing I could wear was a big ole cotton nightgown. Everything felt tight around my stomach and the incisions.
I had a tray next to me that I set up every day with my Multi vitamin (that's all the doc wanted me on after surgery) and my little cups and my water/tea/protein drinks. And my pain meds! I also had a bell, so my son could hear me if I needed help.
I HATE pain and wasn't a wonderful patient once I was home and I am glad he was there to help me.
Wishin you the BEST!
