I wasn't sure because the legs looked kind of long to be a Scottie's, but the face looks a lot like a Scottie puppy. She's adorable.

 It's all so relative.  It isn't alright to be unhealthy.

It's not all right to be unhealthy?  So then, the fact that I have major depression and PTSD means I'm not all right?  Why isn't that all right?

"Not every person who is over weight has a thin one dying to get out".    I for one was very confident in my size and only decided on WLS due to health problems that finally caught up with me.    I had and still have a wonderful husband who loved me for who I am, not my size, a good job and have had a sucessful social life.   I applaud the woman who spoke out to the bully----who is he to decide for everyone that she was over size and not a good role model.    Our young people should be taught to see beyond the out side size and see the person within.   Even a large person can be anything they want and dress the part.

I have been sucessful so far loosing 146 pounds and am now almost 2 1/2 years out and maintaining, and if ask would I do it again---the answer is hell yes only wish I could have 20 years ago, because I feel so much better.     But for me size wasn't the issue.

 THANK YOU!

Two separate issues;

-how you feel about your self-image
-how you feel about your health

We can be satisfied with one and dissatisfied with the other. I am so tired of people telling me I wasn't "really" happy as a bigger person and that I couldn't have been. After all if I was so happy why'd I get WLS?

I got it because that body was paining me. I didn't hate it. It didn't disgust me. It just wasn't the vessel I needed it to be. It's taken a LOT of adjustment to get to where I look at this smaller girl and can even begin to relate to her. When I was bigger I knew who I was and I liked who I was. It's taken some work but my smaller version is getting there too.

 I hated being fat.. I thought and said terrible things about my self. The rational was if I said it/thought it first then nobody else could say it. I was not healthy then, nor am I now. So, did society win by my choice to at least appear to be healthy? Probably not. As a previous poster mentioned, obesity is a drain on our economy and healthcare system.. That's a big ******g joke to me... I know for a fact that my insurance company has paid out WAY more money for my healthcare AFTER WLS. And, I guess it's okay for insurance companies or Medicare to pay for some skanky tweaker to go to rehab seventy five times as long as that tweaker isn't fat?
I guess it all comes down to our willingness to JUDGE.. I refuse to follow the party line, if you are able to take care of YOUR business, whether that is your kids, your job, your bills or whatever... I don't give a **** what size you come in. It isn't my place to say that because you don't look like society thinks you should that you are in some way less valuable .. We are all here for some reason. Our size has no defining value in regards to that purpose. That applies to all the skanky tweakers in the world too ;)

So since I am on disability and can't work a regular job and can't always take care of my bills and stuff, you do give a **** what size I am?  You feel better about me being disabled now that I only weigh 135 pounds than you did when I weighed 270 pounds?

 Poet Kelly.. That is not what I said at all. There is no judgement here.. I am in no place to judge you, or anybody.. And neither is anybody else. I was suggesting that I personally don't give a **** about wether a person is fat or thin.. If you ( any person) are trying to do right.. It's enough for me. What works for you is your business and I would hope that others would adopt the same attitude. Unless I walk in your shoes I will never know your journey and I wouldn't presume to try, hence.. I can't judge you or anybody else.. Only me.
My response was more about the previous poster who was suggesting that my formerly obese self was a drain on society.
Now, if you are going to sit and wallow in self pity, whine about how hard life is but never make an attempt to right your world.. Most likely that person is off my radar. I would much rather stand up and cheer than fret over something or someone who can't or won't take a positive step forward. Having raised a son with bipolar disorder and mental retardation, I use VERY broad strokes in referencing the word TRY...
Since I see your posts here everyday, always making suggestions and boosting people that need to be boosted, why would you think for a second that I would view you in any other light than the one I see.. Everyday!

Well said Kelly L and I concur. Nik you are beautiful no matter what you look like, I love the person I hear when you post. I have no idea what you look like aside from the pic on your profile, but I feel that you are an intelligent, caring person. Thats matters way more than what other people perceive when they look at you.
