Mysterious Shooting Pain?

So I am exactly 3 weeks out today and overall have been doing very well. This morning though, something odd happened. When I bent over to tie my shoes, I experienced a horrible shooting pain through my abdomen. When I was in the car and I turned towards the backseat - same thing. So if I twisted or bent over, bam shooting pain. I was so concerned that I drove to the ER (my surgeon is in surgery all day today so I knew if I called I wouldnt get a response bac****il this evening at best). However when I got to the ER, I noticed the pain was gone. Just like that! I bent over - nothing. I twisted to the side - nothing. So I left the ER. I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this and if anyone thinks it is still something I should be concerned about?

I did have a shooting pain once when I was bending over a sink. I think I pushed too hard against one of the holes / stitches for my laproscopic rny.

I had horrible shooting pains until I was about 4 weeks post op - they were SO annoying and they really hurt.  I called my surgeon b/c I thouhgt something was wrong.  In my case it was nerve pain from my incisions.

I was told its just our body waking up and mending itself. I still get them every now and then and I am 5 weeks post-op as of yesterday.

I've been having serious shooting pains for the last 4ish days.  I finally broke down and got an abdominal binder today.  It's helped a ton.  The pain is still there but it's not so intense.  I just have to take it off when I eat otherwise I feel like I have no room :)

You could have some adhesions. This where organs or tissue kind of "grow" together after the trauma of being moved around during surgery. I had severe ones with my open gall bladder surgery over 30 years ago. They will go away in time as that scar tissue that is formed stretches out with movement.  However, if they don't go away, then you definitely need to see your doctor.

Thank you everyone. I finally spoke to my surgeon who said it was probably from the scar tissue and/or nerves and to take my pain meds if it got too bad and to do some light stretching! They have come and gone almost everyday now, so hopefully they go away soon!
