I am also setting goals with reward even though I haven't had my surgery yet (10/9). I bought a
smaller bra and am going to buy some smaller underware. I'm starting at the bottom(LOL). You will have fun with this.

I'm only working on one goal and that is 2 FULL weeks in New York City ( my most favorite place in the ENTIRE world) in May 2014 !! I've been there before but this time will NOT be hindered by the extra weight and health problems I have now. One of the MAJOR things I want to do is go to the top of the Statute Of Liberty and not have to worry about having a heart attack or getting stuck in the stairs !!!

You might be very disapponted in this reward system as your body might not cooperate in the way you lose weight and your proportions might be off.  Reward with shopping trips alone to try on lots of things you might never have worn.

I think you have a really healthy outlook on this.  I agree 100% about enjoying the process this time around.

Like you, previous to WLS I lost a lot of weight on numerous diets.  Each time I was a slave to the scale....constantly freting over the numbers.  When I had WLS, I did not even bring a scale into my house.  I decided to take it one day at a time, stay on plan and feel good about my progress at day's end.  I decided to weigh at the doctor's office or at the gym.  My goal was to weigh once per month.  I probably averaged every 3 weeks.

I set one big weight goal, but I approached it in 10 pound increments...no more.  I set a size goal but went beyond that size to one I have never worn in my adult life.  I like the idea of buying cute outfits, especially like the one you got for such a great price and using that as a reward.

I can say I had a lot of peace staying away from the scale while in the losing phase.  Now that I'm in maintenance, I weigh every morning.  I have a 5 pound range I set for myself and live within.
